Not exactly — and that distinction matters. DeepRewrite is a professional text editing service that uses proprietary AI models to transform AI-generated drafts into genuinely well-written text. The same way a skilled human editor would.
The fact that well-edited text scores lower on AI detectors is a side effect of doing the job properly — not the mechanism we're optimizing for. We rebuild the logic, rhythm, and texture of your writing. Detectors struggle with that because good editing actually changes how language works at the structural level — not just how it looks on the surface.
Because no rewrite fits everyone, and asking you to choose your style before seeing the result is backwards. We generate a Conservative version — clean, accurate, closer to your original structure — and a Relaxed version that takes more editorial risk, adds personality, and restructures more aggressively.
You see both. You decide. Many users combine paragraphs from each version. You pay for the input once — not for each output.
Three ways. First, prompting ChatGPT to "sound more human" runs your text through the same statistical machinery that generated it — it learns the same patterns, then tries to avoid them. The result sounds like AI trying not to sound like AI. The fingerprint changes slightly. The nature of the output doesn't.
Second, our models are purpose-built and self-hosted for this specific transformation. They're not general-purpose chat models with a system prompt in front. They're trained on the specific gap between AI-generated text and editorially written human text.
Third, prompt-based tools break every time a major model update changes how GPT or Claude write by default. Our models evolve on our schedule — not OpenAI's or Anthropic's.
SynthID is Google's system — and other AI providers are building similar systems — for watermarking AI-generated content at the token probability level. The watermark is woven into the statistical structure of the text itself, not stamped visibly on top. Basic editing doesn't remove it. Even significant manual rewrites often leave traces.
DeepRewrite's transformation operates at concept level — it doesn't rephrase your sentences, it reconstructs your ideas from the ground up. The resulting text has a fundamentally different statistical fingerprint. That's why embedded watermarks don't survive the process.
We think the more interesting question is whether AI detection as workplace or academic enforcement is ethical — and our answer is that it frequently isn't. A detection tool that produces false positives, disadvantages non-native English speakers, and operates on statistical inference rather than evidence is not a fair arbiter of human versus AI authorship.
That said: DeepRewrite is a professional editing tool. Using it to submit work that explicitly violates your institution's or employer's policies is your decision to make under your own circumstances. We provide the technology. We'd also encourage you to be honest about your process wherever honesty is a realistic option — we're interested in changing the broader culture around this, not helping anyone build a habit of deception they're uncomfortable with.
You're billed per word of your input text. Not output. We generate two complete rewrites per submission — each typically runs 20–40% longer than your input. You pay only for what you submitted.
Specific per-word rates are being finalized before launch. Create an account to be notified when pricing goes live, including any early access rates.
Sarcastic Mode is a separate rewriting engine that transforms any text into a piece that comments on itself and its subject — through dry humor, editorial voice, and the kind of precise critique that's more illuminating than straight analysis.
It's useful for: making dense material more accessible, writing satirical takes on serious subjects, producing content that's shareable because it's actually entertaining, and occasionally just discovering what your corporate strategy document sounds like when someone reads it critically. It's included in Pro plans and above.
Your submitted text is processed to produce your rewrite and then deleted from active storage. We do not sell your content to third parties and do not share it with any external services.
As part of our model improvement process, aggregated and anonymized patterns from submissions may inform our training pipeline. We will never use identifiable or attributable content without explicit consent. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
DeepRewrite currently operates in English. Our models are trained on editorial English and perform best with English-language input. Support for Spanish, French, and German is on the roadmap.
Submitting non-English text may produce inconsistent results. We'd rather tell you that upfront than have you find out mid-project.
It's built with exactly that use case in mind. The standard copywriting workflow now involves AI at some stage — drafting, research, outlining, variation testing. The problem is that clients increasingly run AI checks, and if something flags, you're the one explaining your process. DeepRewrite removes that friction by making the final output genuinely editorial — not just AI with lighter footprints.
For high-volume work, our Agency tier offers better per-word rates and dedicated infrastructure. Contact sales with your estimated monthly word volume and we'll put together a custom rate.
Yes — and academic text is often where the difference is most visible. AI-generated academic writing has a particularly recognizable pattern: comprehensive coverage, no strong positions, hedged conclusions, and the specific brand of confidence that comes from never having to actually defend a claim in conversation. DeepRewrite's Relaxed mode disrupts that pattern most aggressively.
Note: if your institution explicitly prohibits AI assistance in any form, the decision to use this tool is yours to make based on your specific situation and risk assessment. We're not going to pretend that decision doesn't exist.
