The case for DeepRewrite
The AI detection game
is rigged. We're not playing it.

We built DeepRewrite because we think AI detection as workplace and academic enforcement is a bad idea — statistically, ethically, and practically. Detection-proofing is a side effect of what we do. Quality is the actual point.

The argument
1
Virtually every working professional uses AI. Journalists. Copywriters. Analysts. Consultants. Anyone who says otherwise is either retired or performing. AI is a research tool, a drafting tool, a thinking partner. Using it doesn't make your work less yours — any more than using a calculator makes your math less yours.
2
AI detection tools are statistical guesses. They flag text based on probability distributions — not intent, not authorship. They produce false positives. They disadvantage non-native English speakers whose writing naturally aligns with formal statistical patterns. And yet people lose jobs and grades over them. On a guess.
3
If the client is happy, the process is irrelevant. A builder uses a nail gun instead of a hammer. A surgeon uses a robot instead of his hands. The outcome is what gets evaluated. Or should be.
4
SynthID is surveillance dressed as quality control. Forcing AI providers to invisibly watermark their outputs — at the statistical level, without the user's knowledge or consent — and then penalizing users for those watermarks is not a neutral technical decision. We disagree with that trade-off. Our technology reflects that disagreement.
5
AI writing is genuinely bad. Not because AI is bad — because the default output sounds like a corporate memo written by someone who's never been wrong about anything. Flat. Hedging. Patronizing. Formatted like a school essay. DeepRewrite fixes that problem. Whatever detectors do with the result is secondary.
The comparison
DeepRewrite vs.
everything else

Most tools in this category are prompt wrappers. They change words. We change structure. That's not a marketing claim — it's the reason the outputs are different.

Synonym spinners & prompt wrappers
Rearrange words — underlying structure unchanged
Built on GPT prompts that break with every major update
One output version per run — you chose your style upfront
Billed per word of output — they profit from bloating your text
Same transformation pattern every run — easily fingerprinted
SynthID watermarks survive — surface edits don't reach them
Still reads like AI — just more expensively rearranged AI
DeepRewrite
Concept-level reconstruction — logic rebuilt, not rephrased
Self-hosted models that evolve on our timeline, not OpenAI's
Two full versions — Conservative & Relaxed — per single run
Billed by input words — no incentive to inflate your output
Dynamic transformation — every run produces a unique result
Concept-depth transformation eliminates embedded watermarks
Actually reads well — because that's the entire point
Bonus feature
Meet Sarcastic Mode

The only rewriter that makes your text funny on purpose — and somehow more persuasive for it.

Included · Available on Pro plans and above
Your text, dissected with commentary
Sarcastic Mode takes any piece of text — a press release, an academic abstract, a strategy memo — and rebuilds it as a piece that comments on itself and its subject. Think of it as the voice of a very intelligent, slightly tired expert who has encountered this argument before and has things to say about it. The result cuts, entertains, and — surprisingly — often makes the original point land harder. Irony, deployed with precision, is more persuasive than sincerity. We built the engine. You bring the content.
Under the hood
Why self-hosted matters
Not a prompt over GPT
Every competitor in this space is a prompt wrapper around a general-purpose model. When GPT-5 ships and changes how the model writes, their outputs change with it. Ours don't.
Models that learn from yours
Our models update from the aggregate of what we see — not from OpenAI's general training corpus. They get better at the specific problem of AI-to-human transformation as they process more of it.
Independent infrastructure
No OpenAI outages affect your runs. No Anthropic policy changes alter your outputs. No third-party provider logs your content. Our infrastructure, our uptime, our responsibility.

Quality writing is the goal.
